ConsultHealthy churches have spiritual growth in their DNA. Healthy churches come in many shapes and sizes. What is most important in our growth-oriented culture is not merely numerical growth but a growing sense that “Christ is being in formed” in everyone involved. Sometimes the very energies that give a church “steroidal growth” (programs, politics and personality) can also war against our own internal lives. What does it mean to grow a church? What does Jesus say about it? Church Planting: About 75% of all church plants fail. By "fail" we mean fail to function as self-sustaining, self-governing, self-propagating communities. We believe that it is not a lack of an entrepreneural spirit to fulfill the passion God has put on someone's heart, but many times the right mix of resources and support. NLA doesn't push a formula, but certain constants help ensure the survival of young churches and the emotional health of the spritual entrepreneurs who, under God, bring them about. Biblical Coaching: Burnout and isolation in ministry is dangerous and common ground. It can put many people in situations that lead to harmful behaviors that put the spiritual leader and his/her family in jeopardy. Many ask: Where can I turn?" "If I went to my elders, wouldn't they think that their leader is falling apart?" * "Wouldn't I be fired if I were really honest about what's going on in my life?" "Is it a lack of faith when I feel numb doing ministry?" "Where can I go? Is there a safe place to discuss my emotions,
thoughts, and fears?" NLA has become a safe place where leaders
can share their emotions, thoughts and fears. We have designed a
safe container to mold the leader toward growth and healing, not
judgment. |
